Notizen - Louis Amos Pilkington, 89 of Niota, Illinois passed away at 1:09 a.m. Saturday, January 25, 2014 at Fort Madison Community Hospital in Fort Madison, Iowa.
Born April 22, 1924 at Fort Madison the son of George and Veronica Scheetz Pilkington. On October 1, 1955 at Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Nauvoo, he married Donna May Russell. They were married for 27 years.
Louis was a member of Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Nauvoo, The Alleman Council Knights of Columbus #1853 of Nauvoo and the Odd Fellows Lodge. He worked for Sheaffer Pen Company and the Santa Fe Railroad, ran a filling station in Niota, worked at the paper mill and retired from Ortho. Louis farmed for many years near Niota. He enjoyed boating, fishing, gardening and being with his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his sisters Virginia Brinkschroeder and Frances Peitz and one brother Raymond Pilkington.
